Position Overview:
We are seeking skilled and dependable carpenters with concrete formwork experience to join the UBC Carpenters Union local 527. The ideal candidate will work on a major healthcare facility in the community, the Nanaimo Hospital.

Wage: $23.88-$43.42

Vacation Pay: 8%

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in construction-related roles with knowledge of carpentry, concrete formwork (Peri experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively
  • Strong understanding of construction safety standards and procedures
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
  • Knowledge of welding techniques is a plus
  • Experience with restoration projects is desirable
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions
